Meet Our Esteemed Judges

Di Pascoe

I am now retired having worked as a tracer draughtswoman for a large consulting engineers, then moving into recruitment, and finally membership secretary at Maidenhead Golf Club and Harleyford Golf Club.

My interests are, golf...playing and spectating, going to the theatre, attending live performances, listening to trad jazz, playing croquet, bridge, reading mystery books and auto biographies, sewing and knitting for my Grand daughters and close friends.

Deleelah’s zest for song writing and performance fortunately led her to play at celebrated music venues such as Hackney Empire, The Jazz Café, The Hideaway, and supporting American icons such as Teedra Moses and Bobby Valentino. Currently working alongside British industry professionals gaining insightful experience with London’s top musicians and orchestras to date.

Her new original material presents a brand new expression of Deleelah and for who she really is, summing it up – it’s clean, positive and to the bone. It brings attention to the subliminal life lessons and the venture of love, societies struggles, youth and politics. In a graceful and respectful way, and from a Soul and RnB glance it’s accommodating to all ages and class, she sings of the true essence of freedom, peace and the importance of inspiration in life.

“I am heavily influenced by people like Jill Scott, Phil Collins, Alicia Keys, Terry Walker, Adele, Solange, Mary J.Blige, Lauren Hill, Aaliyah to name a few, trail blazers such as Donny Hathaway, Bob Marley, Prince, Elvis Presley, Tina Turner reminds me of that yearning for deep blues, soul funk and rock’n’roll that found me and engulfed me – they showed me the true beauty of communicating their thoughts spectacularly through voice and notes, icons that showcase classy performance and ooze character...”
